Photography, sign painting, and exhibition in collaboration with You Are Beautiful.
Synchronous expeditions to promote goodwill. Working simultaneously in Tehran and San Francisco, we hit the streets with the apolitical message - You Are Beautiful, creating moments of positive self-realization.
For two days in San Francisco, Farhad and I took our hand-painted Farsi signs, to Union Square, Market Street, and the Golden Gate Bridge. We traveled by Bart and MUNI and spoke to anyone who approached us. At the same time (night in Iran), Mahmoodreza was in Tehran, driving around with his light-up 'taxi' sign - You Are Beautiful, in English. He settled at a coffee shop and photographed willing occupants with his sign.
The work was presented in an exhibition at the Mission Center for Latino Arts in San Francisco, CA.
